CEDAR RAPIDS On Monday, To The Rescue partnered with Belle’s Basix to throw a disco themed dance.

To The Rescue wants people living with disabilities to get out in their community more often.

People living in group homes around Cedar Rapids were encouraged to come dance the night away.

At first, several people were shy to get on the dance floor. But after a few songs the group wouldn’t stop dancing.

“Being here dancing with the girls,” Timothy Cook said.

“This is my first time here,” Mollie Chester said. “I like to enjoy with my friends.”

To the Rescue hopes to hold dances like this a couple of times month.
Next month, the group will have a Halloween themed dance.
