Personal Care Alternatives

Service Area: Greater Denver Area

To The Rescue Colorado works with families who wish to provide residential services for their loved one with intellectual and developmental  disabilities who are on the DD Waiver.  We work with families who wish to provide Personal Care Alternative (PCA) Services to ensure they receive the training necessary to successfully transition to providing services through the DD Waiver.

To the Rescue Colorado collaborates with families, individuals receiving services, and case managers to develop person centered solutions that meet the goals and preferences of our clients.  New PCA providers are monitored closely to ensure that they have a good understanding of the rules and regulations that pertain to providing residential services to their family member.

Our PCA residents enjoy community living while receiving the support and supervision they require to remain happy and safe. PCA providers support individuals with activities of daily living such as meal preparation, medication administration, community activities, doctor visits, and transportation.  Individuals  in our residential program are actively involved in planning their daily routines and the services they need to be successful.

PCA providers also assist their residents with:

  • Life skills development
  • Opportunities to participate in day programs and supported employment programs
  • Supported access to community activities that reflect preferences of the client; shopping, eating out, visiting with friends, enjoying music/sports/entertainment venues, and going to church are a few examples
  • Transportation services
  • Family involvement and support
  • Medication management
  • 24-hour support
  • Quality assurance
