Adult Day Services
Service Area: Eastern Iowa
Our adult day services are designed for individuals ages 18+ who need supervised care in a safe, friendly place during the day. Participants socialize and enjoy planned activities in a group setting. At the same time, they offer family caregivers respite from caregiving duties while knowing that their loved one is in a safe place.
Programs offered through To The Rescue Iowa Adult Day Services include Adult Day Program, Social Club, and Social Scene. In addition, we host several special events each month that provide even more opportunities for individuals to socialize and make new friends.
Adult Day Program
Our adult day program is available to adults ages 18 and older. The adult day program is designed to help individuals with disabilities develop life skills that support their independence at home and in the community. We offer adult day services at two locations in the greater Cedar Rapids area.
Each location boasts a fully accessible activity center where members have the opportunity to work on personalized goals to help gain life skills that will support living in the community with independence. Participants choose from a variety of enriching activities in and out of the center that focus on many different skills and areas, including:
- Health and fitness
- Arts and culture
- Volunteerism
- Engagement
- Physical and emotional health
- Language and communication development
- Intellectual and cognitive functioning
- Socialization
- Community integration
- Behavior management
- Daily living activities
- Self-advocacy skills
- Responsibility
- Mobility
We offer wheelchair accessible vehicles to transport participants to community activities.

Social Club is offered to qualified individuals receiving Medicaid who have supportive coordination of their services by a community-based case manager. Activities for the group are designed as community based outings, events and volunteering opportunities. This structure supports the purpose of the club which is to have fun, meet new people and build connections in a supportive environment. To The Rescue’s transportation provides convenient, daily pick up and return trip options allowing convenience and support without additional expense.
In addition to good company, participants will have the chance to join in a variety of activities that will help keep them healthy, make sure they have people to turn to when they need help, and learn about the best places to explore in and around their community.
Social Scene
The Social Scene, ideal for members 40+ years old, is designed to meet the unique interests of participants. The Social Scene provides a relaxing and engaging environment where participants have the support they need to make friends, reduce isolation and combat loneliness. The Social Scene is a great option for those who have not been able to find the right fit for day program services.
Special Events
To The Rescue Iowa Day Program is pleased to host BINGO and Dance Party each month in Cedar Rapids. Bingo and the Dance Party are open to participants in all programs (some age restrictions apply). These events are free to attend.
Social Club
The Day Program’s Social Club is for adults who are 18 and older. The club is open Monday through Friday, and is offered in the following communities:
